Carpet Warp - Weft Yarns

Carpet Warp - Weft Yarns

Thrace Group produces a range of flat and twisted polypropylene warp and weft yarns under the Donfil® brand, which can be used in the construction of carpets.

USES & FUNCTIONS

Woven carpets are created by interlacing face yarns and backing yarns, thereby eliminating the need for a secondary backing. Axminster and Wilton type carpets are constructed using both weft and warp woven carpet yarns.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

  1. Carpets constructed using warp and weft woven carpet yarns, instead of primary and secondary backings, have a lower mass making carpets ideal for use on airplanes and cruise liners.
  2. Flat or twisted
  3. Protect against the attack of moulds and fungi
  4. Yarns are more uniform than traditional jute yarns
  5. Easier to achieve a level pile height, leading to reduced pile shearing
  6. FR additive available
  7. Lubricated / Non-lubricated
