Thrace Group drainage nets (TDN) are composed of a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geonet drainage core. The bi-planar geonet is made of two strands that over cross at sixty degrees whereas the tri-planar geonet is made of three strands, two that over cross at sixty degrees and one strand in between thus creating drainage channels that provide high flow capacity under high pressures and with very low ground slopes.

Thrace Group drainage geocomposites (TDC) are composed of either bi-planar of tri-planar geonets combined with a layer of nonwoven geotextile either on one or two faces or with with a nonwoven geotextiles on one side and a waterproofing film on the other side.

USES & FUNCTIONS

Thrace Group drainage nets and geocomposites are used for landfill leachate collection, foundation wall drainage, methane gas collection, pavement and roadway drainage, subsurface drainage and in erosion control applications.

The geonet core provides the main function of drainage, the nonwoven geotextiles provide the main functions of filtration, separation and protection, whereas the film layer provides sealing and waterproofing.

Geonets and Drainage composites replace the traditional thick layers of gravel filters and drains therefore by reducing construction time and associated costs.

Bi-planar geonets provide high flow behavior in both cross machine and machine directions thus allowing liquid flow in all directions.

Tri-planar geonets provide high flow rates under high pressures in deep landfills and at very low side slopes.

The geonets and drainage composites are:

  • resistant to chemical and biological agents that are typically present in soils and waste material areas
  • Resistant against UV degradation through the addition of carbon black additives in the manufacturing process.
