Thrace Group patents the Geosynthetic Reactive Clay (GRC)

Another first for Thrace Group, as we evolved and, therefore, get a patent verification (Νο. EP 3 321081 B1) from the European Patent Office for the Geosynthetic Reactive Clay.

The nature of the GRC is a patented, permeable geocomposite consisting of a granular, permeable attapulgite clay, as contaminant-adsorptive active material, sandwiched between a woven and nonwoven geotextile.

It provides a reactive, natural material that passively treats contaminants which are carried by advective or diffusive flow. In addition to that, it’s environmentally friendly, it deals with a range of contaminants and can satisfy a maximum width of 5.1 meters and up to 30 meters in length.

It’s perfect for capping contaminated soil or sediments in horizontal or vertical applications and groundwater remediation.
